THE delayed game did not diminish Davao Occidental Tigers' spirit in humbling league leader San Juan Knights, 87-75, Tuesday evening, December 18, in the 2018 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Datu Cup at the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Filoil Flying V Center in Davao City.

Eman Calo canned 23 points, including three triples on top of six rebounds and three assists.

Bogs Raymundo and Mark Yee chipped in 18 and 12 baskets, respectively.

San Juan's Larry Rodriguez, for his part, led the charge for his team with 14 points, six rebounds and five assists while teammate Larry Muyang added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

On its Facebook page, the Davao Occidental Tigers apologized to fans for the delay of the game.

“This is due to uncontrollable instances. Our beloved President was in RMC attending an event and due to security concerns, we cannot start the game while he is still in the area,” the Tigers said.

In the first game, Cebu City nipped Caloocan, 71-70.
