GAB Velasco lorded over his rivals to clinch the Datba monthly finals title on Sunday evening, September 2, at the SM Lanang Premier bowling center.
Velasco, who took a twice-to-beat advantage by topping the six-round elimination (1,255 pinfalls), routed Crystal Chavez, 197-178, in the second game of the step-the-ladder finals.
Velasco avenged his 125-230 defeat to second ranked Chavez in their first game.
Third qualifier James Young, meanwhile, eliminated JM Sia only to fall at the hands of Chavez. The latter settled for the runner-up honors while Young and Sia placed third and fourth, respectively.
Velasco, who also copped the highest single title, received P7,000 while the next three placers went home with P4,000 P2,000 and P1,000.
Kert Palces was the August top qualifier for the month of August while Young clinched the highest singles crown during the qualifying tournament of the event organized by the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association.
