THE Sugee’s 3x3 Hoop Basketball League will tip off on August 30 and 31, 2025, at the NCCC Victoria Plaza Dome as part of this year’s Kadayawan Festival.

Organized by NU World Pharma, makers of Sugee Multivitamins, the event promotes youth development through competitive basketball while also pushing health and academic advocacy.

The tournament includes four age divisions—12-under, 14-under, 16-under, and 18-under—and welcomes players from Davao and neighboring cities and provinces. Teams can register via QR code in an open-format setup.

“This is one of the promising basketball events my players are excited about,” said league director Rael Diaz. “Syempre ang makabenefit ani is all Dabawenyos (And of course, Dabawenyos will benefit the most).”

Each team may play up to three rounds, with organizers targeting 25 teams per category. While not yet Fiba-accredited, Sugee urges teams to register their participation for possible inclusion in Fiba’s 3x3 point system.

Though the pilot league starts in Davao, organizers aim to bring the tournament to the national and international stage next year.

Suy Marketing, one of the event’s sponsors, will provide free chicken products to all participating athletes. Sugee Multivitamins—available in syrup and capsule form—supports the event as part of its campaign to promote youth health and recovery post-pandemic.

The tournament is open to both boys and girls.

Organizers welcome athletes with special needs but advise caution due to the sport’s physical demands.

“This is a breakthrough, a milestone—not just for the athletes, but for everyone who supports them and the students they represent,” said NU World Pharma general manager Dan Renoy.

Sugee’s broader youth program also backs cheerdance, volleyball, quiz bees, dance contests, and caroling competitions, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to holistic youth empowerment. Shema Kailah B. Sacman, AdDU Intern
