THE man behind the fatal shooting of a 26-year-old online seller in Tagum City has shown no remorse over the crime, even after confessing to police and the media.

The suspect, a 49-year-old resident of Purok 4, Barangay Apokon, was arrested during a hot pursuit operation on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, at a hotel in Purok Dugso, Barangay San Pedro, Panabo City. He admitted to killing Seannen Gellangarin inside her rented apartment in Barangay Madaum, claiming he was provoked and made clear he had no regrets.

In an exclusive interview with 93.9 iFM News Davao, the suspect said Gellangarin was not his partner but someone he financially supported. He referred to himself as a “sponsor,” providing her with money, gifts, and even assisting with her travel arrangements.

The victim was found dead in her apartment in Purok 28, Kawayanan, Barangay Madaum, with three gunshot wounds.

According to neighbors, they heard a heated exchange shortly before the shooting. One of Gellangarin’s last words reportedly was: “Nganong mag-selos man ka nga dili man ta uyab? (Why are you jealous? We’re not even in a relationship),” followed by three gunshots.

Authorities believe the crime was driven by jealousy and emotional obsession, though the official motive remains under investigation.

During the arrest, police recovered a .45 caliber pistol with no serial number, several rounds of ammunition, and three large sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 60 grams with an estimated street value of P360,000.

The suspect is now in the custody of the Panabo City Police and will face multiple charges, including murder, illegal possession of firearms, and violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. DEF
