THE Provincial Government of Davao Oriental has launched the Davao Oriental Seaport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Force (Dosidit) to strengthen their campaign against illegal drugs.
“Ang paglunsad sa Dosidit usa ka timaan sa bag-ong hugot nga pagpakabana sa lokal nga liderato ug mga law enforcement agencies aron mapanalipdan ang katawhan sa Davao Oriental gikan sa kadaot nga dala sa iligal nga droga,” the province wrote in their Facebook post, on March 28, 2025.
(The launch of Dosidit is a sign of the new strong commitment from the local leadership and law enforcement agencies to protect the people of Davao Oriental from the harm caused by illegal drugs).
Mati City Mayor Michelle Nakpil Rabat, co-chair of the task force, said that she will not allow the sale of illegal drugs in Mati City.
Dosidit is an inter-agency task force formed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which aims to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into the province through its seaports, especially in Mati City.
The task force is made up of the provincial government unit, the local government unit (LGU) of Mati, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (Pdea), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (Nica), the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), the Bureau of Customs (BOC), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), the Philippine Navy, the 701st Infantry Brigade, the 67th Infantry Battalion, and the 66th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army.
The newly formed task force aims to strengthen security in seaports and improve intelligence sharing among agencies to prevent the entry of drugs. The task force will conduct anti-drug operations, intelligence gathering, and training for its members.
Dosidit will have its operations center at the Balay Silangan Compound in Mati City, which will serve as the command hub for interdiction activities, intelligence sharing, and real-time coordination among agencies. RGP
