THE Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has started deploying ambulances and medical teams to key areas as part of heightened safety measures for the 2025 Kadayawan Festival.
CDRRMO head Alfredo Baloran told DXDC RMN Davao that emergency responders are now in their assigned areas, supported by barangay disaster councils, City Health Office doctors and nurses, and additional medical staff from the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC). He assured that medical coverage will be available for all major festival events.
The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and the City Safety and Security Cluster have also stationed forces in major venues, enforcing strict inspections. Bladed weapons, backpacks, and other prohibited items are banned, and attendees are urged to use transparent bags. Any unattended bag will prompt immediate police or SWAT action.
Baloran urged residents and visitors to follow safety rules for a smooth celebration.
The festival opened without incident, with nearly 7,000 police officers and over 14,000 safety personnel deployed citywide to keep the month-long festivities safe and secure. DEF
