IN A progressive move to push equality and representation, Trabaho Partylist has reaffirmed its commitment to workplace diversity, equality, and inclusion, especially for members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Rooted in its identity as a party for and of the Filipino working class, Trabaho Partylist (No. 106 in the ballot) envisions a society where every worker is afforded dignity, opportunity, and respect, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, or socioeconomic background.
Trabaho Partylist spokesperson Atty. Mitchell-David L. Espiritu emphasized their goal to create a society without oppression and discrimination, actively promoting the aspirations of women, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and LGBTQIA+ Filipinos.
Espirity said the group’s stance is aligned with growing national and global calls for workplace equity and rights-based labor practices.
He also cited a May 2024 report revealing that a majority of the Philippine companies now have LGBTQ-inclusive policies in place, indicating a shift toward more inclusive corporate cultures across the country.
“Trabaho aims to help extend inclusive hiring and benefits and workplace gender sensitivity training practices beyond large corporations and into MSMEs and government workplaces,” he added.
In a recent sortie in Caloocan, Trabaho first nominee Atty. Johanne Bautista also vowed inclusivity for women, senior citizens, persons with disability, and members of the minority, such as the LGBTQIA+ community.
On May 5, Pulse Asia Research, Inc. released the results of its survey conducted from April 20 to 24, 2025, showing Trabaho as one of the party lists projected to win a seat in the House of Representatives. PR
