VISION Express, the leading premium optical retailer in the Philippines, supports the next generation of eyecare professionals in a donation drive to three universities across the country. They donated 200 pairs of frames and 1,000 pieces of contact lenses to Centro Escolar University (CEU) in Manila, Lyceum Northwestern University (LNU) in Pangasinan, and Southwestern University (SWU) PHINMA in Cebu, as resources for training and development for Optometry students.
The frames and lenses given to schools will be instrumental for the Optometry students in their practice of applying classroom theories to actual scenarios. At the official turnover held in CEU, Vision Express solidified its partnership with their School of Optometry. Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Teresa Perez mentioned, “With continuous collaboration and trust, we [Vision Express and CEU] can make a difference in the community we serve, given the unified objective in giving back.”
CEU Optometry Clinicians Club President Jamie Oo also shared that initiatives like this give optometry students access to broader resources and materials that supplement their learning experience. She expressed gratitude toward the continuous support from Vision Express through the years and added, “Our future colleagues are giving us a helping hand and investing in our growth today.”
Students and instructors alike are excited to utilize these items for learning inside and outside the classroom. As soon-to-be optometry professionals, it is their goal to become skilled, competent, and community-driven, which will be honed through training with these resources.
Staying true to their mission to provide premium eye care services to Filipinos, Vision Express aspires to shape the minds and sharpen the skills of future eyecare professionals in the Philippines through this initiative. PR
