THE Commission on Elections-Davao City (Comelec-Davao City) said that the whole canvassing process was successful despite minor inconveniences.

Lawyer Shajani M. Ebrahim, chairperson of the board of canvassers, said that the transmission and the canvassing were a success, noting that the transmission process was faster compared to the previous election in 2022.

"Nag-stop lang tayo gamay because of our far-flung voting centers were not able to transmit because of the weather last night. If the weather cooperated with us, I think matatapos tayo last night," she said in a media interview on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Ebrahim said that they encountered some manual transmissions because of the weather and also due to human error. She said some members of the electoral board (EBs) were pressured during the time of transmission; other factors that may contribute to the human errors were due to the machines that were new. However, the EBs have undergone training and were reminded of what to do.

Rey Solitario, schools division superintendent of the Department of Education-Davao City (DepEd-Davao City), said that some of the challenges that the EBs faced were the low signal in far-flung areas, such as those in Marilog District. He added that due to the weather disturbance, some EBs were transferred to another area so they could transmit the election returns.

Some of the EBs also thought that the election returns had already been submitted.

Solitario said that the EBs who failed to transmit their election returns were required to submit a report of the minutes of the proceedings, including the failure to transmit the election results. He said that despite this, they were able to transmit all 1,173 cluster precincts.

"Overall okay naman ang dagan naa lang tay pila gyud less than 10 na naay problema sa transmission (Overall, everything is alright, we have less than 10 cluster precincts wherein we encountered a problem)," he said.

Solitario said that some of the challenges they have faced were the long lines of voters they needed to accommodate. Some EBs were able to transmit their election returns past 7 p.m. RGP
