"Let Justice and Righteousness Prevail." (Amos 5:24)

As Evangelical leaders in Mindanao, we are concerned about the actions and policies of some political leaders in our country that promote injustice and oppression. Grounded in God's Word, we express the following views:

1. CONDEMNATION OF INJUSTICE: We strongly reject practices that oppress people and violate their fundamental rights. Isaiah 10:1 warns, "Woe to those who make unjust laws." We oppose any government actions that undermine justice, as they hurt innocent people and silence those without power.

2. REJECTION OF CORRUPTION: We condemn the corruption in our politics and the selective application of justice it causes. This erodes public trust and moral integrity. Amos 5:15 urges, "Hate evil, love good." We call for transparency and accountability in all government areas and emphasize that everyone must act with moral responsibility.

3. DEMAND FOR FAIRNESS: We call on our legislative bodies to stop abusing their power with selective investigations and unfair policies. Proverbs 31:9 reminds us to "Speak up and judge fairly." We want fair treatment and work for laws that benet everyone, no matter their political ties.

4. CALL FOR RIGHTEOUS LEADERSHIP: We urge our leaders to maintain high standards of integrity and humility in their service. Leadership is a sacred trust. Those in power must recognize their duty to uphold justice and righteousness, as Ecclesiastes 12:14 says that God will judge every deed.

5. COMMITMENT TO ADVOCACY: We promise to support those who suffer from injustice and hold our leaders accountable for their actions. Our commitment to advocacy comes from prayer and moral backing for our nation, aiming for a place where justice exists and every person is valued.

6. SUPPORT FOR THE RULE OF LAW: We support the rule of law and demand that it be applied fairly to all. We will not accept selective enforcement, rmly believing that "no one is above the law." The law should protect the vulnerable, not serve as a tool for the powerful.

7. APPEAL TO CIVIL SOCIETY: We encourage fellow citizens and civil organizations to stay alert and active against societal injustices. Everyone must come together to advocate for change that aligns with the teachings of God's Kingdom, working toward a community that represents justice, mercy, and humility.

CONCLUSION: No human authority can surpass God's justice. We call on our leaders to act with integrity and uphold righteousness in all their decisions and actions. Their commitment to these principles is essential for our communities' well-being and our nation's moral strength.
