THE Philippine Army condemns in the strongest terms the ambush of our soldiers on the afternoon of January 22, 2025, in Barangay Lower Calabeng, Sumisip, Basilan.

We deeply condole with the families of those who died and we enjoin the nation to honor their ultimate sacrifice while securing the people of Basilan. Likewise, the Philippine Army assures the provision of prompt and full support to the wounded for their immediate recovery.

As part of our firm resolve to sustain the hard-earned peace and progress in Basilan, we are working closely with local government units and law enforcement agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of this treacherous act face the full consequences of their actions and justice be served to our fallen heroes.
