THE 12th Infantry (Lick 'Em) Battalion (12IB), based in Calinog, Iloilo, led by Lieutenant Colonel Vicel Jan C. Garsuta, joined the celebration of National Youth Day and Linggo ng Kabataan at Barangay Gama Pequeño, Calinog, Iloilo, on August 10, 2025.
Garsuta discussed the role of the youth in nation-building through nationalism, aiming to equip them with knowledge to protect their communities by upholding patriotism and rejecting insurgent ideologies.
“The youth are vital partners in securing peace and progress. By strengthening their commitment to nationalism, we safeguard the future of our communities,” Garsuta said.
