16 wanted persons arrested in 24-hour manhunt across Western Visayas
SIXTEEN wanted individuals were arrested in a 24-hour intensified manhunt operation conducted by the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) from 6 a.m. of June 24 to 6 a.m. of June 25, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of PRO 6, commended the efforts of law enforcement officers across the region and acknowledged the public’s assistance.
“Nagpapasalamat po tayo sa inyong dedikasyon at kasipagan sa pagtupad sa inyong sinumpaang tungkulin bilang tagapagpatupad ng batas. Pinahahalagahan din natin ang patuloy at matibay na suporta ng ating mga mamamayan sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng mahahalagang impormasyon upang matukoy at mapanagot ang mga natitira pang wanted persons dito sa ating rehiyon,” Ligan said.

Of the 16 arrested, one was classified as a most wanted person, while 15 were listed as other wanted individuals.
The highest number of arrests was recorded by the Iloilo City Police Office with eight arrests. The Capiz Police Provincial Office followed with four, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with two, and the Aklan Police Provincial Office and Antique Police Provincial Office with one arrest each.
The most wanted individual arrested was ranked third on the list of the Malay Municipal Police Station.
The suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Commission on Elections (Comelec) Resolution 11067.
The court recommended bail of P200,000 for the firearms charge and P36,000 for the violation of the Comelec resolution.
All apprehended suspects are now under police custody and will be turned over to the courts concerned for proper legal proceedings. (Leo Solinap)
