A HIGH-VALUE target and his associate were arrested during a buy-bust in Barangay Poblacion, Dingle, Iloilo, on April 11, 2025.

The Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of the Dingle Municipal Police Station (MPS) seized some 60 grams of substance believed to be shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of P408,000.

Police identified the suspects as "Brylle," a 22-year-old unemployed man residing on Muyco Street, Barangay Poblacion, Dingle, Iloilo, classified as a high-value individual (HVI); and "Mark," a 27-year-old resident of Barangay San Jose, Dingle, Iloilo, who was recently listed as a drug personality.

Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) Director Bayani M. Razalan commended the operating unit for its swift action and credited community cooperation for the success of the operation.

“I commend our operating team for their outstanding performance. This highlights the vital collaboration between the police and the community in our campaign against illegal drugs. Our anti-drug efforts are steadfast and consistent, and we will continue to pursue those who threaten the safety of our communities,” Razalan said.

Alias Brylle, a drug surrenderer who had been under surveillance for over a month, was reportedly sourcing illegal drugs from Iloilo City. He had also completed the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program.

Both suspects are now in the custody of the Dingle MPS and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The IPPO encourages the public to remain vigilant and to immediately report any illegal drug activity to the nearest police station. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
