THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) arrested two high-value individuals (HVIs) and seized 305 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P2,074,000.
The buy-bust occurred around 12:52 a.m. on June 17, 2025, at Zone III, Barangay Tanza Esperanza, City Proper District, Iloilo City.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, PRO 6 director, commended the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in Western Visayas and supporting units for their swift action.
"The seizure of more than two million pesos worth of illegal drugs is a significant victory in our fight against narco-criminals. This operation proves that PRO 6 is fully committed to following the directives of the Chief PNP and to protecting the communities of Western Visayas from the dangers of illegal drugs," Wanky said.
Wanky urged personnel to remain relentless and communities to remain united in this fight.
The RPDEU in Western Visayas led the operation with support from other PRO 6 units. Authorities recovered eleven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and other non-drug items.
The arrested suspects are in police custody. They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
