
TWO high-value drug suspects were arrested, while P850,000 worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized in a joint police operation in Barangay Loboc, Lapuz District, Iloilo City, around 8:50 p.m. on June 16, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the operatives.
"These arrests and the confiscation of suspected illegal drugs reflect the patience and unwavering dedication of our personnel in combating illegal activities. We also extend our sincerest gratitude to our stakeholders whose valuable information contributed to the success of this operation,” Wanky said.
Authorities identified the suspects as alias Ronron, 35, a resident of Barangay Nabitasan, La Paz District, and alias Badong, 31, of Barangay Lapuz Norte, Lapuz District. Both are from Iloilo City.
Recovered from the suspects were nine plastic sachets containing 125 grams of suspected shabu and 20 grams of suspected dried marijuana leaves with an estimated value of P3,000.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 8, and the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group-Special Operations Unit (PDEG-SOG) in Western Visayas conducted the operation.
Both suspects are now in law enforcement custody. They will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
