TWO high-value drug suspects were arrested and around 50 grams of shabu worth P340,000 were seized during a buy-bust by the Iloilo City Police Station 10 in Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao, Iloilo City around 3 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the operatives for their successful anti-illegal drug operation.
“The success of this operation underscores the strong partnership of the police and the community, and the relentless campaign of the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) to shield communities from the peril of illegal drugs,” he said.
Wanky said the local police will continue to pursue those who continue engaging in illegal activities.
The suspects were identified as alias Boss, 22, a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo District, Iloilo City, and alias Lex, 21, a resident of Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo, District, Iloilo City.
Both are classified as high-value individuals. They are now under the custody of Icpo and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The ICPS 10 operation forms part of the intensified anti-drug campaign led by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Western Visayas under the guidance of the Icpo and PRO 6.
Authorities said the operation was carried out based on validated intelligence and close coordination with the community.
The operation also supports the Philippine National Police’s continuing commitment to eliminate the illegal drug trade across the region. (Leo Solinap)
