TWO high-value drug suspects were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Iloilo City, resulting in the seizure of approximately P1,836,000 worth of shabu on May 7, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), lauded the efforts of the operating teams involved in both operations.

“These accomplishments show our unwavering commitment and hard work in the fight against illegal drugs. These are the results of our collective endeavor with the different stakeholders,” he said.

Wanky assured that law enforcement is aggressively pursuing operations against individuals involved in illegal activities, despite their tasks in securing upcoming elections.

The first operation was conducted by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in Western Visayas at 12:20 a.m. in Barangay Boulevard, Molo District, Iloilo City.

The suspect, identified as alias Ulok, 21, was caught in possession of an estimated 100 grams of shabu with a street value of P680,000.

Later that morning, around 8:15 a.m., personnel of the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) through its Iloilo City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), arrested another high-value target, alias Win, in Barangay Lanit, Jaro District, Iloilo City.

Authorities recovered approximately 170 grams of shabu from the suspect, with an estimated value of P1,156,000.

Both suspects are currently in police custody and will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap)
