TWO high-value individuals (HVIs) were arrested and P442,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala II, City Proper, around 12:05 a.m. on July 18, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), lauded the successful operation.
“I commend the personnel of ICPS 7 for the successful arrest of two re-arrested high-value drug personalities and the seizure of a significant amount of suspected shabu," he said.
Ligan praised the operation as a testament to the ongoing efforts in combating illegal drugs.
The suspects, both 29 years old, were identified as alias John and alias Sky, residents of Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala II, City Proper District, Iloilo City. Authorities said they were previously arrested for illegal drug-related offenses and are classified as re-arrested HVIs.
The operation, carried out by personnel of Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 7, resulted in the recovery of approximately 65 grams of suspected shabu contained in 12 heat-sealed plastic sachets, buy-bust money, and several non-drug items allegedly used in the illegal activity.
The suspects are now detained at ICPS 7 and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
