THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) formally deployed 29 police personnel to serve as Special Electoral Board members in the May 12 national and local elections, as well as in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Parliamentary Elections.

The send-off ceremony was held at the PRO 6 Multi-purpose Hall, Camp General Martin Teofilo B. Delgado, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City on April 29, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of PRO 6, led the send-off ceremony along with lawyer Jekar Francis Sullano, regional election lawyer of the Commission on Elections in Western Visayas.

“This is the first time in the history of the elections that the PRO 6 sends augmentation to other regions for election duties, but we understand that this is due to necessity and the demand of our services in that area and we are always ready to provide support,” Wanky said.

Wanky instructed the traveler to carry the banner of PRO 6 and showcase the brand of service, "Tampad kag sinsero nga pagserbisyo," wherever assigned.

Sullano also expressed appreciation for the Philippine National Police's (PNP) assistance and reminded the deployed officers to perform their duties within the bounds of law and established procedures.

“We are thankful to PRO 6 and to the PNP for continuously supporting the Commission on Elections,” he said.

The 29 deployed personnel came from different provincial and city police offices under PRO 6: 11 from the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, six from Capiz Police Provincial Office, four each from the Aklan Police Provincial Office and the Antique Police Provincial Office, two from the Guimaras Police Provincial Office, and two from the Iloilo City Police Office.

The deployment is part of the PNP's commitment to ensure peaceful, credible, and orderly elections. (Leo Solinap)
