THREE drug suspects, including a couple tagged as high-value individuals (HVI), were arrested in a buy-bust conducted by the Capiz Police Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in Barangay Dayao, Roxas City, Capiz at 7:29 a.m. on July 20, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, lauded the unit's accomplishment.
“I commend our operating team for the successful buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of three drug suspects and the confiscation of a large amount of illegal drugs,” he said.
Ligan emphasized the PNP's ongoing commitment to combat illegal drugs, highlighting their strong and consistent achievements.
Authorities have identified the arrested suspects as alias Oliver, 50, a pond caretaker; alias Cassy, 35, a housewife; both residents of Barangay Dayao in Roxas City; and their alleged accomplice, alias Anton, 55, a fish vendor from Carles, Iloilo.
All three were apprehended after allegedly selling shabu to a police poseur buyer.
Confiscated during the operation were 15 plastic sachets containing an estimated 75 grams of shabu valued at P510,000, along with buy-bust money and other non-drug items.
The suspects are facing charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, at Roxas City Police Station. (Leo Solinap)
