THREE high-value drug personalities were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Iloilo City Police Station (Icps) 3 in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro, Iloilo City around 7:10 p.m. on July 16, 2025.

The suspects were identified as alias Mac-Mac, 46, of Barangay Jalandoni Estate, Lapuz District; and alias Kyle, 18, and alias Benjie, 42, both residents of Barangay San Isidro, Jaro District.

Confiscated from the suspects were approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1,020,000.

Authorities also recovered five heat-sealed plastic sachets, including the buy-bust item, and three knot-tied transparent plastic sachets, all containing suspected shabu. In addition, buy-bust money and other non-drug items were seized.

The arrested individuals are now under the custody of Icps 3 and will face charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Police Colonel Kim Legada, city director of the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo), praised the law enforcement teams for their vigilance and dedication in the campaign against illegal drugs.

“This successful operation is a result of our intensified anti-drug campaign under the PNP’s whole-of-nation approach. We will not stop until our communities are free from the influence of illegal drugs,” Legada said.

The Icpo continues to implement sustained anti-drug operations and community engagement activities to safeguard the public and maintain a drug-free Iloilo City. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
