THREE high-value individuals (HVI) were arrested and an estimated P1.36 million worth of substance believed to be shabu was seized in a high-impact anti-drug operation conducted in Barangay Muelle Loney, City Proper District, Iloilo City around noon on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), praised the operatives of the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) – City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 1 for their relentless efforts.
“We commend the operatives involved in this successful operation. It is the result of collaborative efforts between the police, community, and other law enforcement agencies," Wanky said.
Wanky warned those involved in the illegal drug trade that police will not rest until they are brought to the courts of law.
The arrested suspects, all considered high-value individuals in the illegal drug watchlist, were identified by their aliases as:
- Alias Totong, 46, single, a resident of Barangay Muelle Loney, City Proper District, Iloilo City;
- Alias Totong Libat, 44, married, also a resident of Barangay Muelle Loney, City Proper District. Iloilo City;
- Alias Panoy, 36, married, a resident of Barangay Tambunac, San Enrique, Iloilo.
Recovered from the suspects were approximately 200 grams of suspected shabu packed in six plastic sachets and four knot-tied plastics, along with marked buy-bust money and other non-drug-related items.
Police Colonel Kim Legada, director of the Icpo, also lauded the team’s success.
“Your effort is a clear testament to your commitment to cleanse the community of the menace of illegal drugs. Let’s maintain the intensity of our campaign as the opening of classes nears—until all drug peddlers are behind bars,” Legada said.
The three suspects are currently under police custody and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
