
MAJOR General Michael Samson, commander of the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, Philippine Army, based in Jamindan, Capiz, visited the 94th Infantry (Mandirigma) Battalion headquarters in Barangay Libas, Isabela, Negros Occidental to recognize the outstanding performance of its personnel on May 20, 2025.
In a message delivered during the ceremony, Samson praised the professionalism, dedication, and bravery of the 94IB, calling it a “fightingest battalion” with a legacy of excellence.
“Let us continue this momentum. Do not take your career and health for granted, as both are essential when the time comes for schooling and promotions,” Samson said.
Lieutenant Colonel Ziegfred Tayaban, commanding officer of the 94IB, welcomed Samson and led the awarding ceremony, which honored two officers, 10 enlisted personnel, and one Cafgu Active Auxiliary (CAA) for their exemplary contributions to the unit’s mission and operational success.
The event emphasized the Philippine Army’s recognition of discipline, dedication, and performance as vital components of national security efforts in Negros Occidental.
