
SAN Dionisio Municipal Police Station (MPS) arrested the fourth most wanted person in Iloilo in Barangay Batuan, San Dionisio, Iloilo around 9 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2025.
The operation followed reports from concerned citizens.
Police Colonel Roland Bulalacao, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo), praised the San Dionisio MPS for the successful operation and recognized the community’s vital role.
“This arrest shows our strong commitment to holding those who try to escape justice and evade their criminal accountability,” Bulalacao said.
He said they are diligently working to ensure the safety of their communities and provide justice to victims and their families.
The suspect, identified only as alias Bert, 21, male, single, and a resident of Barangay Batuan, was apprehended by the tracker team of San Dionisio MPS led by Police Captain Edward Villanis.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued on May 27, 2025, by the presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 66 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, for the crime of rape by carnal knowledge under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1 of the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act 8353, in relation to Republic Act 7610. The case stemmed from an incident reported in January 2025.
No bail was recommended for the accused.
Bert was informed of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine and the Anti-Torture Act in a dialect he understood. He is currently under the custody of the San Dionisio MPS for proper disposition.
