THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) arrested 59 suspects and seized around 1,181 grams of shabu and 4.5 grams of marijuana during a weeklong anti-illegal drug operation conducted across the region from April 7 to April 13, 2025.
PRO 6 Director Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky praised the performance of all unit commanders and operating teams for their dedication and coordination with community stakeholders in ensuring the success of the operations.
“We commend the hard work and commitment of our personnel on the ground in partnership with the different stakeholders that resulted in these significant accomplishments,” he said.
Wanky assured that those involved in illicit drug activity would be given priority focus and subjected to law enforcement operations if evidence warrants.
The operations, carried out by various units under PRO 6, led to the arrest of 10 high-value individuals (HVIs), 42 street-level individuals (SLIs), and seven newly identified drug personalities.
These arrests stemmed from a total of 43 operations conducted across the provinces and cities within Western Visayas.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo) under Police Colonel Bayani Razalan recorded the highest value of confiscated drugs, totaling approximately P4.7 million, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) under Police Colonel Kim Legada, with around P3 million worth of seized shabu.
Ippo and Icpo recorded the highest number of apprehensions, with 24 individuals arrested each, all facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap)
