THE sixth most wanted person in Iloilo province for the crime of qualified rape was arrested by operatives of the Lambunao Municipal Police Station (MPS) around 3:46 p.m. on July 17, 2025, in Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao, Iloilo.
The suspect, identified as alias Vengie, 39, a laborer and resident of Lambunao, was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the court in Janiuay, Iloilo, dated July 16, 2025. The warrant was issued with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty.
The accused is now in police custody for the proper disposition of his case.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the arresting team for their swift action.
“Rest assured, we will not stop chasing these criminals and putting them behind bars. Justice must be served for their victims,” said Ligan. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
