POLICE arrested the region’s sixth most wanted person (MWP) for the crime of rape during a joint operation in Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo District, Iloilo City at 2:25 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The suspect, identified only by the alias Martin, 55, a resident of Iloilo City.
He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on the same day by a local court in Iloilo City, with bail set at P120,000.
The suspect, who was arrested by personnel from the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 6, City Intelligence Unit (CIU), and Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas (RIU 6), is now in the custody of ICPS 6.
Police Brigadier General Jose Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), lauded the successful operation.
“This arrest is a manifestation of the dedication of our personnel on the ground to chase wanted criminals and give justice to their victims,” Ligan said. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
