
THE Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) conducted 53 anti-drug operations from June 1 to 15, 2025, resulting in the arrest of 69 individuals and the confiscation of around P6.97 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or suspected shabu.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas, praised the efforts of all operating units.
“We commend the hard work and ardent determination of our personnel in partnership with different stakeholders that resulted in these noteworthy accomplishments,” Wanky said.
Wanky assured that individuals suspected of engaging in illicit drug activities will be given priority attention and subjected to law enforcement operations if necessary.
The Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) made the largest seizure with approximately P3.66 million worth of suspected shabu, followed by the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) with around P1.66 million in confiscated drugs.
The Icpo recorded the highest number of arrests with 47, followed by the Ippo with 10. The remaining arrests came from various regional command units and police stations.
Among the 69 individuals apprehended, 14 were identified as high-value individuals (HVIs) while 54 were categorized as street-level individuals (SLIs).
All suspects have been charged with violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
