ALEXIE Mae Caimoso Brooks of the Philippines won Miss Eco International 2025 on April 19, 2025, during the coronation night held in Alexandria, Egypt, besting 39 other candidates from around the world.

Her victory marked the country’s third Miss Eco International crown and the second titleholder from Western Visayas.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to Alexie Brooks for being crowned Miss Eco International 2025! You have made the whole country proud especially Iloilo! Basta Ilongga gwapa, maalam, kag ma-abilidad! Your beauty, intelligence, and talent truly shine on the international stage. Your victory inspires many young Ilonggos, especially our empowered women, to dream big and reach greater heights,” said Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas in a statement.

Brooks, a native of Leon town in Iloilo Province, also clinched the Best in National Costume award for her Philippine Eagle-inspired ensemble designed by Tata Blas-Pinuela.

She dedicated her win to her late grandmother, Basing, who passed away in September 2024.

On her social media page, Brooks shared a photo of her crowning moment alongside a photo of her grandmother with the caption: “Lola! I made it!”

Her grandmother, Basing, who raised and cared for her in Leon, Iloilo, passed away in September last year while Alexie was preparing for the international pageant.

The beauty queen shared that her grandmother was always supportive of her journey in sports and beauty competitions. Just four days ago marked her grandmother’s birthday.

According to Brooks, she would usually ask her grandmother what gift she wanted for her birthday, and she would often give her a gold medal. This time, Alexie offered something more meaningful -- the international crown.

Brooks also expressed her pride in being the first “black girl” to win Miss Eco International.

Born in Lebanon in 2001, Brooks studied Business Administration at National University in Manila, majoring in Marketing Management. She graduated in 2024. In 2022, she was named the Most Valuable Player by the University Athletic Association of the Philippines and competed in the Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam. Brooks was raised in Leon, Iloilo by her grandparent.

Brooks now joins fellow Filipinas Cynthia Thomalla (2018) and Kathleen Paton (2022) in bringing home the Miss Eco International crown.

Brooks’ success not only celebrates Filipino beauty and intelligence but also highlights the region of Western Visayas as a consistent contributor to global pageantry excellence.

Her advocacy and performance at the international stage embody the qualities of a modern Filipina and serve as an inspiration to aspiring young women, especially in Iloilo and across the Philippines.

Brooks won Miss Iloilo 2024 during Dinagyang Festival 2024 representing Leon, Iloilo and joined the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 as a top 10 contestant.

Miss Eco International 2025 winners, Brooks from the Philippines and Yulinar Fitriani from Indonesia, represent beauty, advocacy, and a commitment to making the world a better place.

The winners are congratulated by Dr. Amaal Rezk, the founder of Miss Eco International. (Leo Solinap)
