Antique police arrest province’s 5th most wanted for rape in San Jose

OPERATIVES from the San Jose Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the Antique Police Provincial Office (Antppo) arrested the province’s fifth most wanted person (MWP) for two counts of rape in Barangay Funda-Dalipe, San Jose, Antique at around 4:38 p.m. on June 25, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the operating units for the successful operation.

“The successful arrest of this most wanted person is a manifestation of our unwavering commitment to pursuing the remaining wanted persons in the region,” Ligan said.

Ligan praised the strong partnership between the police and the community for maintaining peace and order in every community.

The suspect, identified as alias Nonoy, 34, a resident of Barangay Bariri, San Jose, Antique, was arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by the court for the crime of rape. No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.

The arrest was carried out with the assistance of the Intelligence Unit (IU) of the Antppo. The suspect is currently in police custody and will be turned over to the concerned court. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
