THE Philippine Army's 61st Infantry (Hunter) Battalion, based in Miagao, Iloilo, participated in the Brigada Eskwela 2025 Kick-Off Program on June 9, 2025.

The battalion assisted schools in Iloilo and Antique provinces with community-led activities to prepare for the School Year 2025–2026.

With the theme, “Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa,” the Hunter Troopers provided free haircuts, storytelling sessions to motivate young learners, tree planting activities to promote environmental responsibility, and conducted minor school repairs, clean-up drives, and beautification projects.

These efforts were aimed at ensuring students return to safe and clean classrooms.

The event showcased a strong sense of "Bayanihan," with teachers, parents, students, community members, the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), local government units (LGUs), barangay officials, and barangay tanods all contributing to the nationwide school readiness campaign.

The 61st Infantry Battalion reiterated its support for community development programs. These programs enhance local schools and promote cooperation, civic engagement, and community resilience. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
