POLICE in Capiz arrested the province’s sixth most wanted person (MWP) for the crime of rape in Barangay Ambilay, Panitan, Capiz around 3:54 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the personnel of the Panitan Municipal Police Station (MPS) under the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) for the swift arrest.

“This accomplishment speaks of our unwavering commitment to pursuing and apprehending the remaining wanted persons in the region and holding them accountable for their offenses,” Wanky said.

Wanky emphasized the importance of strengthening community partnerships as a crucial part of the ongoing campaign.

The suspect, alias Junior, 36, single and a resident of Barangay Ambilay, was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued on April 2, 2025.

The court did not recommend bail for his temporary liberty. He is currently under police custody and will be turned over to the court of jurisdiction. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
