CARELON Global Solutions Philippines inaugurated a new facility at SM Strata Tower 1 in Mandurriao, expanding the healthcare information management services company's presence to five locations in Western Visayas as part of its goal to reach 10,000 employees this year.
Chief Country Executive Nicki Agcaoili said the expansion supports the region's ambition to become the global capital for healthcare information management services while enhancing the company's capabilities and capacity for innovation and talent development.
"This expansion in office space supports not only the goal for Western Visayas to become the HIMS capital of the world, but also signifies the next phase in Carelon's growth with enhanced capabilities, increased capacity, and deeper investment in innovation and talent development in the region," Agcaoili said in a press conference on July 17, 2025.
The contact center and clinical nurse operations specialist has grown its service capabilities from approximately 80 last year to nearly 100 currently. These capabilities are strategically deployed across multiple sites to ensure business continuity and promote talent development throughout the organization.
Agcaoili said the enhancement in services aligns with broader objectives to support Filipino workforce development. The company has opened opportunities for senior citizens and persons with disabilities while investing in talent development for individuals without healthcare backgrounds.
"The various capabilities are deployed strategically across sites to ensure business continuity and promote talent development," Agcaoili said.
He said the enhancement of services is part of a larger strategy to provide and nurture opportunities for the world-class Filipino workforce.
The executive announced that Western Visayas is positioned to become the preferred destination for healthcare information management services, with infrastructure, innovations, and demand supporting this projection.
"We are partnering with local government units not only in Iloilo but in the surrounding cities as well to develop the talent and support the goal for the HIMS industry," he said.
Agcaoili said Western Visayas, with its current infrastructure, innovations, and demand, is well-positioned to become the HIMS capital.
Carelon Global Solutions Philippines aims to reach 10,000 full-time employees across its Metro Manila and Western Visayas sites this year, including a target of 5,000 associates in Iloilo to support the region's healthcare information management services ambitions.
The company was recognized as the 9th Best Workplace in the Philippines for organizations with more than 1,000 employees by Great Place To Work, which describes itself as the global authority on workplace culture. The firm also ranked 15th on the Philippines' Best Workplaces in IT-BPM 2025 list.
For five consecutive years, Carelon Global Solutions Philippines has maintained Great Place To Work certification, which is granted to companies meeting standards for employee experience and high-trust work environments.
Agcaoili said the company has established systems and processes to ensure the holistic health and well-being of its associates, which directly impacts the quality of their work.
In May, the company unveiled its Innovation Hub in Taguig, designed to promote creativity and collaboration among associates. The facility represents part of Carelon's broader investment in innovation and talent development initiatives.
Carelon Global Solutions Philippines was named a finalist in three categories at Solaia Awards: The IT-BPM Awards 2025, including Global Capability Center of the Year, Company for Regional Development of the Year, and HIMS Company of the Year. The annual awards platform celebrates organizations contributing to industry growth, innovation, and resilience.
"Every incentive, every benefit we give our associates starts with one word: CARE. That's the reason why we are recognized as one of the best workplaces," Agcaoili said. (Leo Solinap)
