THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has recognized the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6) and its partner agencies under the Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) for ensuring peaceful, honest, and orderly 2025 midterm national and local elections across Western Visayas.
The Plaque of Recognition was awarded to PRO 6 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky during the post-election assessment, exit conference, and awarding ceremony held on June 11, 2025.
Comelec 6 Assistant Regional Director Lawyer Wil Arceño praised the collective efforts of all RJSCC members, which include PRO 6, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), and other law enforcement and civilian agencies.
“We have our collected will to safeguard democracy not just in words but in actions. Of course, we have faced logistical challenges, security threats, and the heavy weight of public expectations, but through our determination, coordination, and trust, we overcame them,” Arceño said.
He expressed gratitude to partners for their unwavering dedication, vital support, and presence today, highlighting the shared responsibility of democracy.
Police Brigadier General Alexander Mariano, deputy regional director for Administration (DRDA), accepted the award on behalf of Wanky. The recognition highlights the critical role of PRO 6 and other RJSCC members in securing the election process in the region, which concluded without any major poll-related incidents.
“This recognition affirms the continued commitment of PRO 6 and its partners to ensure credible, safe, and peaceful elections in the region,” Wanky said.
Wanky assured that PRO 6 remains committed to maintaining Western Visayas as a safe place for living, working, and conducting business. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
