
THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office in Western Visayas recognized media partners as Social Protection Champions during the Media Pasasalamat Awarding Night held at MO2 Westown Hotel in Iloilo City on April 10, 2025.
DSWD Regional Director Arwin O. Razo acknowledged the significant role of the recipient in the life changes and development of the countrymen during the awarding ceremony.
“You, our media partners, are our partners in reaching more people and conveying the importance of these programs. I would like to thank you for your continued support and dedication. For being our partners in promoting the agency's programs," he said.
Assistant Regional Director for Operations Katherine Joy Lamprea added, “We are deeply grateful for your continued support—through your coverage, insightful reporting, and commitment to excellence. You have not only reported on our efforts, but also stood beside us as trusted collaborators and advocates—or shall I say, Social Protection Champions.”
The awardees were acknowledged for their exceptional contribonal contribtions to advancing the department’s social protection and advocacy initiatives, as the 2024 Most Supportive Media Outlets and Individuals.
In the radio station category, the Most Supportive Media Partners were Radyo Pilipinas, GMA Super Radyo DYSI, RMN Iloilo, K5 News FM Antique, K5 News FM Iloilo, Radyo Todo Aklan 88.5 FM, and Bombo Radyo Iloilo.
For the online platform category, awardees included the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) – Western Visayas’ information centers in Iloilo, Capiz, Antique, Aklan, and Negros; the Philippine News Agency (PNA) – Iloilo Bureau; and the Boracay Island News Network.
Print media awardees were Iloilo Metropolitan Times, Panay News, The Capiz Times in Roxas City, The Daily Guardian, Manila Standard, and SunStar Philippines.
In the television category, GMA Regional TV – One Western Visayas, IBC TV-12, and UNTV Iloilo were recognized as Most Supportive Television Media Partners.
For online live streaming, ichannel and The Barkadahan sa Iloilo were also honored for their continued efforts in promoting the department’s programs.
The annual Media Pasasalamat event, funded by the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) under Division Chief Belen Gebusion, was hosted by Sustainable Livelihood Program Social Marketing Officer Nicole Ann Ebojo.
The ceremony was led by Razo, Lamprea, new Regional Information Officer Therese Fely Legaste, Family Development Session Focal Person Chanderlyn Jesselle Rile, and 4Ps Information Officer Montesa Griño-Caoyonan. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
