TRANSCOM Iloilo, one of the provincial sites of Swedish-owned BPO company Transcom Worldwide (Philippines), Inc., launched its new recruitment hub at the Festive Mall in Iloilo Business Park, Iloilo City, on Friday, June 20.
The strategic placement of the recruitment hub within Iloilo City’s thriving central business district marks a significant step in Transcom's commitment to tapping into the rich talent pool of the city and Western Visayas and bolstering its operational capabilities.
The launch commenced with a parade, culminating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas and Transcom Vice President for Talent Acquisition in the Americas and Asia Pacific (AAPAC) Region Jaymarie Altura, along with Vice President for Operations Andrea Kristina Resurreccion, Senior Director for Talent Acquisition Melvin Peralta, and Recruitment Director for the Visayas and Davao Roja Ma-Ri Barimani-Julleza.
Mayor Treñas said the expansion of Transcom strengthens Iloilo City’s position as a premier destination for BPO investments.
Altura said Transcom opened a hub in Iloilo City because of the “growing applicant flow and ever-changing demand for innovation, comfort and accessibility.”
“Our goal is to provide a place where applicants feel welcome regardless of their qualifications and past work experiences while our recruiters work as their partners in uplifting their confidence and strengths throughout the recruitment process,” Altura said.
The new recruitment hub on the third floor of the Festive Mall is designed for accessibility and convenience, facilitating an efficient application process for aspiring BPO professionals. It is open from Monday to Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“The new space is significantly larger and supports our streamlined processes for faster application and interview management,” Barimani-Julleza said. “Thanks to this setup, most applicants can now complete the entire process in just a day.”
Inside the hub, Barimani-Julleza said, applicants would benefit from a welcoming and relaxing environment, with board games and videos educating them about the application process.
It features a larger testing area, private interview rooms, and a dedicated boardroom. Self-service kiosks, a queuing system, soundproofed computer stations, and feedback stations allow a thorough and satisfying experience for job applicants
Barimani-Julleza said a mall location also offers ample parking, extended operation hours, and a safe, comfortable environment
“Applicants can also take care of other errands, grab a meal, or relax before or after their appointment,” she said.
“It’s in a more accessible location, making it easier for everyone to reach us,” she said.
The new recruitment hub is a mere 200 meters or a 3-minute walk along Megaworld Boulevard to Transcom Iloilo’s office at the One Global Center, ensuring seamless daily coordination and quicker internal decision-making.
Transcom Worldwide (Philippines), Inc. operates six sites in Pasig, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Davao. It has approximately 1,000 employees in Iloilo.
The Philippine BPO industry is a key economic driver, employing around 1.7 Filipinos and having a projected revenue of more than $40 billion in 2025. It contributes at least 8% to the nation's GDP.
Iloilo City, a recognized "Next Wave City" for IT-BPM, benefits from this strategic growth due to its improving infrastructure, strong local government support, and expanding pool of skilled professionals.
Transcom aims to significantly contribute to Iloilo City's BPO landscape as well as to the future economic prosperity of the Ilonggo community. (SPONSORED CONTENT)
