A HIGH-VALUE individual (HVI) was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Team of Ajuy Municipal Police Station in Barangay Tipacla, Ajuy, Iloilo around 8:10 p.m. on June 21, 2025.
Police Captain John Michael Dalipe, officer-in-charge of Ajuy Municipal Police Station (MPS), led the buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of alias Bagtik, 42, male habal-habal driver identified as a newly listed HVI.
Authorities seized approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1,020,000.
Police said the suspect allegedly sourced his illegal drugs from a nearby town and supplied them across Ajuy. The operation was conducted following weeks of intelligence validation and community coordination.
The suspect is now under the custody of Ajuy Municipal Police Station and will be charged with violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“This success is a result of almost two months of intensive surveillance, following reports from concerned residents,” said Police Colonel Roland V. Bulalacao, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo).
Bulalacao warned individuals involved in illegal drug activities to cease their activities or face imprisonment.
He commended the Ajuy police for their commitment and credited the cooperation of the Ilonggo public in helping track down drug violators.
He reaffirmed that the operation aligns with the anti-drug campaign of the Philippine National Police, the directive of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), and the leadership thrust of its new regional director. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
