A HIGH-VALUE individual (HVI) was arrested and approximately 60 grams of suspected shabu worth P408,000 were seized during a buy-bust operation conducted by joint elements of the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) City Drug Enforcement Unit and Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 8 in Barangay Mansaya, Lapuz District, Iloilo City, at 11:16 p.m. on July 17, 2025.
The suspect, identified only as alias Nene, 35, a freelance rider and resident of La Paz District, Iloilo City, was tagged as a high-value drug suspect.
Confiscated from the suspect were 19 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and several non-drug items.
The suspect is now under the custody of the Icpo and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the operatives for the successful operation.
