
POLICE arrested a 33-year-old high-value individual (HVI) during a buy-bust operation conducted by Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 7 on Quezon Street, Barangay Osmeña, City Proper District, Iloilo City around 8:45 p.m. on July 2, 2025.
The suspect, identified only by his alias Joshua, is a resident of Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala 2. He was found in possession of approximately 65 grams of suspected shabu valued at P442,000.
Authorities also seized thirteen sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and several non-drug items during the operation.
The suspect is currently detained at the custodial facility of ICPS 7. He will face charges for violating Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, acting regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the operating team for their swift action.
“I commend our operating units for their dedication and teamwork in the successful seizure of illegal drugs and the arrest of the suspect. This proves our strong commitment to ending the drug menace and protecting our communities,” Ligan said.
