
A HIGH-VALUE individual (HVI) was arrested and approximately 135 grams of substance believed to be shabu valued at P918,000 were confiscated during an anti-drug operation conducted in Barangay Ingay, Tubungan, Iloilo around 9:28 a.m. on June 27, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), identified the suspect as alias “Jay,” 42, single, and a resident of Barangay Ingay, Tubungan.
“This accomplishment is a testament to the untiring commitment of our personnel in the fight against illegal drugs. We will continue to strengthen our operations and maintain our vigilance to protect our communities. I also urge the public to remain supportive and cooperative in our campaign to eliminate this menace in the society,” Ligan said.
The suspect, alias Gerald, 42, a farmer from Sitio Lakadon, Barangay Ingay, was arrested after selling a sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P12,000.
Authorities recovered the following items from the suspect:
• One sachet of suspected shabu (buy-bust item)
• 13 additional sachets of suspected shabu
• Eight knot-tied plastic bags containing suspected shabu
• P12,000 marked buy-bust money
• P1,150 in cash
• Two cellular phones
• One .38 caliber revolver loaded with five live ammunition
• Various non-drug items
The operation was carried out by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit in Western Visayas (RPDEU), Tubungan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Special Operations Unit 6 of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG), and the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo).
Authorities said the suspect is now under police custody and will face charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
