THE Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) deployed 423 personnel to various stations and polling precincts on May 6, 2025, at the Icpo Grounds, Camp Achilles D. Plagata in Iloilo City to ensure safe, peaceful, and orderly National and Local Elections on May 12.
Police Colonel Kim Legada, director of Icpo, reminded personnel to serve with “vigilance, integrity, and compassion” as they assist the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo).
“Let us bring the spirit of public service with compassion as we support our counterparts in securing the elections. Work with heart, take care of each other, and stay alert and focused,” Legada said.
The deployment forms part of the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) election security efforts through the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6).
Before deployment, personnel underwent orientation on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) rules, including the DOs and DON’Ts during the election period.
Icpo said it remains fully prepared for election day and is working closely with partner agencies and stakeholders. The office also aims for zero major election-related incidents and calls for community cooperation.
Icpo has reminded the public about Comelec Resolution No. 11057, which enforces a liquor ban from May 11 to May 12, 2025, and prohibits campaigning on the same dates.
