THE Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) arrested 91 drug personalities and seized around 1,888.4968 grams of shabu worth P12,841,778.24 and 28.0884 grams of marijuana in 64 anti-drug operations conducted from June 1 to June 30, 2025.

The month-long operations resulted in the apprehension of 25 high-value individuals (HVI), 63 street-level individuals (STI), and three suspects with outstanding warrants of arrest, according to Icpo.

“These accomplishments reflect the power of teamwork and our shared commitment to address the problem of illegal drugs,” said Police Colonel Kim Legada, Icpo city director. “With continued collaboration, we can eliminate this menace that threatens our communities. Together, we move closer to our goal of making Iloilo City truly drug-free.”

The City Drug Enforcement Unit led the efforts with 610.8145 grams of shabu seized, valued at P4,153,538.60.

The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in Western Visayas, in coordination with Icpo units, followed with 457.4692 grams worth P3,110,790.56.

Other contributions included: Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 10 – 184.2074 grams worth P1,252,610.32; ICPS 4 – 104.1771 grams worth P708,404.28; ICPS 8 – 102.2463 grams worth P695,274.84; and ICPS 5 – 86.9265 grams worth P591,100.20.

The Icpo's dedication to ensuring a safer and drug-free Iloilo City was reflected in the active participation of all 10 city police stations.

Newly installed Mayor Raisa Treñas-Chu praised the Icpo’s performance in a public statement.

“I commend Police Colonel Kim Legada and the Icpo for their commitment to the intensified campaign against illegal drugs,” she said. “This proves that Iloilo City continues to fight back against the drug menace. As your mayor, I give my full support to the Icpo and all our law enforcement units.”

Treñas-Chu also extended special recognition to Molo Police Station, led by Police Captain Ryan Christ Inot, as Best Performing Police Station for June 2025. The unit conducted 10 operations, resulting in the arrest of 23 drug suspects.

“I will continue the firm anti-drug stance initiated by former Mayor Jerry Treñas. We will not allow illegal drugs to spread in our city. Together, we push for a drug-free Iloilo City for every Ilonggo family,” Treñas-Chu added.

Former Iloilo City mayor Treñas, in a separate message, expressed pride over the accomplishments achieved during the final stretch of his administration.

“Through intensified operations and commitment, Icpo successfully arrested 85 drug personalities and seized 1.376 kilos of shabu and over 28 grams of marijuana worth P9.36 million,” Treñas said.

He also lauded Inot of Molo Police Station for exemplary performance and leadership.

“As a private citizen, I remain confident that the fight against illegal drugs will be sustained and strengthened under Mayor Raisa Treñas. She, like me, will never allow the proliferation of drugs in Iloilo City,” he said.

The Icpo affirmed that it will continue to intensify its anti-drug campaign in line with the directive of Philippine National Police Chief General Nicolas Torre III and the regional leadership under Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, who officially assumed command of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas.
