THE Iloilo City Government opened its ninth Iloilo City Action and Resilience (Icare) Center on April 1, 2026, in Bankers Village IV, Barangay Jaro District to strengthen emergency response and bring public services closer to residents through faster and more coordinated operations.
Mayor Raisa Treñas said the new facility reflects the City’s commitment to improving public service delivery.
“Indi lang ini basta government facility. Isa ini ka promisa sa tagsa ka Ilonggo nga ang bulig mapalapit guid sa ila,” Treñas said. “Sa sini nga bag-o nga Icare Center, mas mapadasig ang pagresponde kag mas mapalapit ang serbisyo sa aton mga pumuluyo. Magluwas sini, magapahamtang man kita sang substation sa atubang sang Jaro Plaza.”
(It's not just a government facility. This is a promise to every Ilonggo that the help will come closer to them. With this new Icare Center, the response will be faster and the service will be closer to our people. Besides, we will also install a substation in front of Jaro Plaza.)
The newly inaugurated Icare Center stands on a 3,200-square-meter lot with a floor area of 600 square meters. It will operate 24/7 and will be manned by personnel from the Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 3, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), ensuring continuous and coordinated emergency response.
City officials said the Icare Centers, which evolved from response-focused facilities into Action and Resilience Centers, highlight Iloilo City’s proactive approach to disaster management. The centers aim not only to respond to emergencies but also to prepare, mitigate risks, and strengthen community resilience.
The new facility adds to the existing Icare Centers located in So-oc, Ungka, Calumpang, Balantang, Tanza-Esperanza, Nabitasan, ICC Gaisano, and Megaworld.
The expansion reflects the collaboration between the City Government and partner agencies in promoting public safety and improving disaster readiness across Iloilo City.
Officials emphasized that through continued cooperation among national government agencies, local officials, and private partners, the city remains committed to expanding services and building a more resilient, stronger, and safer Iloilo City for all Ilonggos. (Leo Solinap)
