THE Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) has intensified its security operations in preparation for the opening of School Year 2025–2026 on June 16, 2025, as part of the national Balik Eskwela campaign.
This aligns with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Philippine National Police (PNP) to increase police visibility and improve public safety.
Police Colonel Kim Legada, director of the Icpo stressed the value of a secure learning environment.
"We are dedicated to establishing a safe space that supports education and growth. In addition to upholding the law, we also want to strengthen our relationships with the community," Legada said.
The Icpo's security plan calls for checkpoints, frequent foot patrols in school zones, increased visibility in public spaces, and the strategic placement of personnel throughout the city. In order to respond to emergencies and offer prompt assistance, Police Assistance Desks (PADs) will be positioned in busy areas such as transportation hubs and schools.
