

THE Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) seized more than P12.3 million worth of shabu and over P8.1 million worth of marijuana in a series of anti-drug operations conducted in Iloilo City from May 1 to May 31, 2025.
Police Colonel Kimsu Legada, director of the Icpo, lauded the accomplishments of all operating units, saying, “This accomplishment shows our unwavering commitment and how serious we are in eradicating the illegal drug menace. Let us continue to work harder and strengthen community support for sustained success.”
Legada emphasized the importance of resolute action against illegal drugs, stating that once in, there is no rewind or retake.
A total of 44 anti-drug operations were conducted across Iloilo City during the month, resulting in the confiscation of 1,817.6033 grams approximately P12,359,702.44 worth of shabu and 68.2131 grams or P8,185.572 worth of marijuana.
The operations led to the arrest of 54 drug personalities -- 19 classified as high-value individuals (HVIs), 34 as street-level individuals (SLIs), and one minor.
The breakdown of recovered shabu by unit is as follows:
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) in Western Visayas, in cooperation with ICPO units, seized 706.2750 grams.
The Iloilo City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) confiscated 471.4500 grams.
Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 7 recovered 248.8799 grams.
ICPS 10 seized 120.6853 grams.
ICPS 4 accounted for 107.2023 grams.
ICPS 2 confiscated 61.7503 grams.
The Icpo said that intensified community engagement and coordination with barangays and intelligence assets played a crucial role in the success of the operations.
