Iloilo City police seize P1.3M 'shabu,' arrest 4 drug suspects in 24-hour operation

A 24-HOUR anti-drug operation by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) resulted in the seizure of approximately P1.3 million worth of substance believed to be shabu and the arrest of four drug suspects, including the city's top 2 priority drug-listed individual.

ICPO Director Police Colonel Kim P. Legada praised the operatives for their relentless efforts in combating illegal drugs.

"Let’s continue our momentum, intensify our campaign, create more support from the community, and exert extra effort to identify the cohorts of these illegal drug traffickers," he said.

Legada emphasized the need to "stop" the proliferation of drugs and, if necessary, subject those involved to law enforcement operations.

The operation, conducted from 4 a.m. on March 13 to 4 a.m. on March 14, led to the confiscation of 189 grams of shabu in four separate incidents.

Among those arrested, three were classified as high-value individuals (HVIs), while one was a street-level individual (SLI).

Alias Toto Chard, 31, a mechanic from Barangay Magsaysay, La Paz District, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. on March 13 by Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 2.

He was identified as the city's Top 2 priority drug-listed personality by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

Authorities seized approximately 70 grams of suspected shabu valued at P476,000.

Alias Rain, 37, of Barangay M.H. Del Pilar, Jaro District, was apprehended at 10:35 p.m. by Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 9. Police recovered 60 grams of suspected shabu worth P408,000.

Alias Noy Apa, 43, was arrested in a buy-bust operation by Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 10 in Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao District. Officers seized 70 grams of suspected shabu valued at P476,000.

Alias Billy, 47, from Barangay Onate De Leon, Mandurriao District, was arrested by Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 5 at 10:50 p.m. He was classified as a street-level individual, and three sachets of suspected shabu worth P27,200 were confiscated from him.

Iloilo City police arrested four drug suspects and seized approximately P1.3 million worth of suspected shabu during the 24-hour anti-drug operation.
