THE Iloilo City Government is set to hold a meaningful Christmas celebration at the Freedom Grandstand on December 17, 2024, emphasizing "unity and gratitude rather than extravagance."

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas shared that the city's annual Christmas parties aim to foster camaraderie among employees, with this year's event focusing on simplicity and thanksgiving.

Treñas through Joy Fantilaga, spokesperson on the Iloilo City mayor on his video message last Friday, November 29, said that the scheduled party will take place at a venue accessible to all.

The event will feature a variety of presentations from each clustered department, allowing city employees to showcase their talents.

"This year, we are planning to hold the event at the Freedom Grandstand, a venue that accommodates everyone. The program will highlight presentations prepared by each clustered department, showcasing the talents of our employees," Treñas said.

There will be a raffle of donated items, adding excitement to the occasion.

"This celebration is not about lavishness but about creating an opportunity for all employees to come together, celebrate the season, and thank the Lord for His guidance and blessings throughout the year. It is our way of strengthening bonds and appreciating the hard work of every member of the Iloilo City Hall family," Treñas said.

Treñas also emphasized that the event is a way for the employees to unite and celebrate the holiday season while looking forward to continued progress in the city.

"We look forward to this special occasion as we continue to work together para sa kauswagan sang siyudad (for the progress of the city)," Treñas added. (Leo Solinap/SunStar Philippines)
