THE Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo) arrested the city’s fifth most wanted person for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 in Pototan, Iloilo, on August 13, 2025.
Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan, regional director of the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO 6), commended the units involved in the operation.
“This arrest is another testament to the relentless efforts of our police force in bringing law offenders to justice. We will continue to track down wanted persons and ensure that the rule of law prevails for the safety and security of Western Visayas,” Ligan said.
The suspect, identified as alias Yanyan, 32, single, a laborer, and a resident of La Paz District, Iloilo City, was served with warrants of arrest by personnel of the Iloilo City Mobile Force Company (ICMFC), Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 2, City Intelligence Unit (CIU), and Regional Intelligence Unit in Western Visayas (RIU 6) at the Department of Health Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (DOH-TRC) in Barangay Rumbang, Pototan, Iloilo.
The warrants, issued on August 12, 2025, by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 25, Iloilo City, stemmed from charges for violation of Section 11, Article II – Possession of Dangerous Drugs, with no bail recommended, and Section 12, Article II – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, with bail set at P40,000.
