A TOTAL of 203 individuals, composed of police officers and civilians, registered for the blood donation drive organized by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (Ippo) at Robinsons Place Pavia, with 131 of them successfully donating blood on July 17, 2025.
The activity, titled “Dugo sang Ilonggong Baganihan, Madamo nga Kabuhi ang Magsugpunan," was held in line with the 30th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration, themed “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang gusto ng Pulis, Ligtas ka!”
Leading the initiative was Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, acting provincial director of the Ippo, in partnership with the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC). The event was also supported by various community sponsors and partners.
“Ang amon misyon amo ang pagpasiguro sang kaluwasan kag seguridad sang tagsa ka kabuhi. Ang pagdonar sang dugo isa ka bilidhon, direkta, kag konkreto nga paagi agud makabulig sa pagluwas sang kabuhi. Dako gid ang amon pagpasalamat sa amon mga sponsor kag sa tagsa ka donor nga nagsabat sa amon panawagan,” said Razalan.
(Our mission is to ensure the safety and security of every life. Donating blood is a valuable, direct, and concrete way to help save lives. We are immensely grateful to our sponsors and every donor who responded to our appeal.)
Among the key partners in the activity were the Western Visayas Medical Center, represented by Dr. Mark Anthony Planto IIII; Robinsons Place Pavia, led by Operations Manager Diana Herrera and Regional Marketing Manager Stephen Von Jeruta; Advocates, Inc., represented by Pastors Saldivar Del Rio and Myoengsu Lee; the Panay-Guimaras Council of Lions Clubs, headed by Council President Rex Gelvezon; M Lhuillier Panay South Region, represented by Ana Mae Catupay, president of OPEC; and Corden Agro Industries Inc.
The collected blood units will be used to support WVMC’s blood bank, benefiting patients across Western Visayas and saving lives during emergencies and critical medical conditions.
The bloodletting activity forms part of a series of community-oriented programs lined up by Ippo for the month-long celebration of Police Community Relations Month, which promotes stronger police-community partnerships and a culture of volunteerism and public service.
